3-D Ultra Sound: The Ultimate Experience
Above is a 3-D image of our baby girl. You can see her face, nose, and even lips. If you look closely, her hand is in front of her chin in a fist.
This afternoon John and I were privileged to have a 3-D ultra sound. The ultra sound itself lasted about 13 1/2 minutes. The 3-D imaging was absolutely amazing. The fact that sound waves can give us a 3-D picture of our unborn child is simply incredible. From the ultra sound, we learned that the baby's organs are all growing appropriately and that she currently weighs 1 pound 4 ounces. Her precious little Colby leg is about 4 inches long. I say Colby leg because the Colbys have huge muscly calves. Hers definitely looked like it was going to be a Colby calf. : ) We feel so grateful for this little, healthy girl. She is already so beautiful and such a wonderful blessing to our lives. As a soon-to-be-mother, all I can say is that I am humbled God granted me this gift to nurture, teach, learn from, and love.

Wynette: Our First Baby Girl
About a month ago, I took Wynette to the post office with me. Of course, like always, there were comments flying around the room about how beautiful she was and how calm her mannerisms were. I always feel proud of my pup when I hear these comments; one comment, however, I did not expect: "How are you going to be able to give that beautiful puppy away?" My thoughts immediately jumbled. She is my baby. Do I really have to give away my baby? In reply, I nonchalantly said, "I try not to think about it."
Well, it has been in my thoughts just about every day since. I try to give her extra hugs and kisses because I know that it's only a matter of time before she has to go. In some ways I think of it as her mission that she was born to go on. She truly is an amazing puppy, perfectly loyal and obedient.Wynette will be an immaculate guide dog and companion. I think for that reason, I will be able to send her off with a smile on my face. Of course, I guarantee my smiling face will be streaming with tears.
Funny story about Wynette:
Yesterday, I was working with Wynette on her sit to down to stand and it was so funny. I was telling her to go from a down to a sit and she walked up to me and sat right on my lap. Then she layed her head on my arm and closed her eyes. I think she was saying, "Mom, I'm really tired. Just hold me." So I held her for a while. Well, until my legs went numb anyways. Lol. It reminded me a lot of when she was a young pup and loved to cuddle.
(Picture Below: Wynette is the pup on the far right with angel wings. Cute huh?)

And Thank-You I Don't Need Nuffing.
My mother taught my 4-year-old nephew Aiden how to pray a few days ago. Recently he has been looking around the room and naming things he is grateful for during his prayers. Of course his prayers go on and on, but they are actually quite profound and mature. Especially one night when he said, "And thank-you God I don't need nuffing (nothing)." This prayer has particularly stayed close to my heart. John and I have so much to be grateful for. As I glance around me right now, I see a copious life of blessings including clothes, a soft bed, chapstick, scriptures, books, lamps, socks, shoes, a warm home, a beautiful baby growing within me, and an incredible husband who is constantly serving me. Now I could go on and on like my cute nephew does as he glances around the room, but for the sake of the post length, I'll stop here and say that I am grateful that I don't need nuffing.
